How Does it Work?
|
The concept is simple; it does not involve sanding, bodywork, or abrasive compounding. Any size job should be finished the same day. The following is very basically the steps involved in repairing the chips, more detailed instructions come with the kit.
1. Wash Car
If the chips are on enough different panels that you feel this is necessary, then wash the whole car. If you have a small number of chips in one localized area you can just clean off that much.
2. Prepare Chips
Clean them with the solution and wiper cloth. These and gloves are provided in the kit.
3. Paint Chips
Using applicators provided brush, dab or smear paint in chips. You do not need to be neat. Coverage matters.
4. Level Paint
Here is the key to the system. Using the wiper and solution provided, carefully wipe the excess paint from the surface around the chip leaving paint in the chip. You will find the solution just strong enough to do this without removing paint from the chip itself. If you should get over energetic and remove the fresh paint from the chip, repeat step 3.
5. Buff
Gently buff repair with rag to remove residue.
6. Stand Back
Admire job.
